How do I keep my blonde from going brassy?
This is the most important question blondes have, so let’s get into the answer. Blonde hair will always eventually shift warm again. Think of a strand of hair as a drinking straw. The darker the hair the more full the straw, the lighter the hair the emptier the straw will be. We are removing pigment from the hair strand to achieve lightness. But our hair naturally will shift slightly after time. 1) Internal Factors, because it’s attached to our living bodies that is being nourished, aging & all of the things. 2) External Factors, the things our hair is exposed to, hair products, air quality, the sun, even oxygen. The good news is here are a few ways you can keep your blonde looking fresh.
Make an appointment for a toner refresh. This is a simple appointment that is about an hour long. You are simply toning the already existing blonde you have. Depending on level of blonde you would want to do this every 6-8 weeks
Avoid using hair products that are gold, yellow or orange in color
Avoid sleeping on a colorful pillowcase
In some instances vitamins or herbs can cause warmth, ex. high does of tumeric.
In some cases a purple shampoo can help to neutralize yellow tones. However over use of it can cause your blond to look dull & even dark.
Avoid using high temperatures on hot tools.
